Your privacy is critically important to us. At sweetspots we have a few principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
  • We don’t receive or store passwords for any accounts on third-party services.
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the ongoing operation of one of our services.
  • In our products and services, we aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what’s visible to the public, seen by search engines, kept private, and permanently deleted.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about your personal data or our Privacy Policy in general by writing us at dataprivacy at sweetspots.io.

Website and mobile Application Users and Visitors

Like most website and mobile application operators, sweetspots collects non-personally identifying information like e.g., the browser type, operating system, language preference, referring site, and date and time of each visitor. We collect this non-personally identifying information to better understand how visitors use our website.

We also collect potential personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for visitors on our website and users who are logged in our mobile app. We only disclose IP addresses of users who are logged in under the same circumstances that we use and disclose personally identifying information as described below.

Gathering of Personally Identifying Information

The amount and type of personally identifying information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, if you choose to create a sweetspots account with a third-party service such as Facebook or Google, you may have to provide us with your username or user ID for your identity to be authenticated. When the authentication is complete, we will be able to access certain information based on your permissions from the third-party service (e.g., email address related to that account). We don’t receive or store passwords for any accounts on third-party services. Due to the nature and purpose of sweetspots, your voice recordings may be gathered and stored.

We may also collect information like your gender, date of birth, hometown and Instagram handle if you want it to be part of your sweetspots profile.

In each case, sweetspots only collects such information if necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with sweetspots. We do not disclose personally identifying information other than as described below. You can always refuse to reveal personally identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent you from using our website or mobile app.

E-mail, WhatsApp, Newsletter

In case you contact sweetspots via email or WhatsApp and should we gather personally identifying information during that process, we will keep your personally identifying information stored for the purpose of handling your request. We will keep this personally identifying information for a period of 12 months or longer only in case applicable laws require us to do so.

Aggregated Statistics

sweetspots may collect statistics about the behavior of its users on its website and mobile app, including IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, and other statistics. We use and analyze (and may use the services of third parties to analyze) this information to customize and improve sweetspots. For instance, we may monitor the most popular accounts on the sweetspots mobile app. We may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, sweetspots does not disclose personally identifying information other than as described below.

In some cases, we collect and store information about where you are located, such as by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation. We may use location information to improve and personalize sweetspots.

Protection of Certain Personally Identifying Information

sweetspots discloses potential personally identifying and personally identifying information only to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on sweetspots’ behalf or to provide services available on sweetspots’ website or mobile app, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country. By using sweetspots' websites and mobile app, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. sweetspots will not rent or sell potential personally identifying and personally identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above, sweetspots discloses potential personally identifying and personally identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when sweetspots believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of sweetspots, third parties, or the general public. If you are a registered user of the sweetspots app, we may occasionally send you emails to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with sweetspots and our products. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by following the instructions at the bottom of those emails. If you send us a request (for example via a support email), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. sweetspots takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potential personally identifying and personally identifying information.
